My special interest is software testing. I firmly believe that the test organisation must be involved in the project from the start. We have a lot to contribute to the success of projects, starting at the requirements definition phase. It is impossible to test quality into a system; you have to design for it. The most effective place to start achieving quality software is with clear concise testable requirements. My areas of expertise include:
I have experience in projects in various industries including: telecommunications, banking and financial services. During these projects I have been able to demonstrate my ability to adapt quickly to any new business situation. This has been continuously confirmed by satisfied clients. I actively promote the importance of testing. I was a member of the British Computer Society iseb Software Testing Examiners Panel between 2001 and 2005 and was a founding member of the German Testing Board from 2002 to 2004. I joined the initiative to establish an international software testing qualification from its outset at EuroSTAR 2001 in Stockholm, Sweden where I also presented a paper. I have since presented a paper on establishing the foundations for successful testing at EuroSTAR 2003 in Amsterdam and spoke again at Eurostar 2004 in Cologne about setting up a test lab. |

With over 20 years experience in the software industry I have worked in all phases of development projects from requirements gathering, through programming to testing and in a variety of roles including project manager, systems analyst and test manager. I've seen good projects and bad projects.
