- Analysis of existing key processes: projects, maintenance releases, test and identification of disconnects
- Survey of SPI methods und Best Practices and recommendation of an appropriate model
- Definition of the target processes
- Documentation of the software development processes for major, minor and hot-fix releases
- Documentation of the support processes: Project Management, Quality Management, Change & Problem Management
- Definition of roles and responsibilities
- Creation of document templates to describe the process deliverables

- Market survey of available tools for Problem & Change Request tracking and Release Management
- Preparation of a short list
- Definition of evaluation criteria
- Tool recommendation
- Planning of Tool rollout
- Implementation of processes in SourceForge
